I want everyone to know my views for running for city commission. So I can let it be known to many people.
Please let others know to vote for Edmond Schwab City Commission on November 7, 2006!
A vote
for Mr. Schwab on November 7th 2006 is a vote for the following:
Continued
Economic growth and maintaining a high standard of living: While
many persons in our community did not wholeheartedly support the Kentucky Tri-Modal Transpark, it is here and will result in the creation of many jobs in the manufacturing and
transportation sector. To not fully back it up once it has moved forward would be a disaster and would sell short our economic
potential for the future, real jobs for the citizens of Bowling Green. Bowling Greeen Metalforming, just one plant to come in already, has resulted in thousands of jobs, both
directly tied to it and indirectly connected to it. The full job growth potential of the KTT is in excess
of 30,000 new jobs for persons in Bowling Green/Warren County.
Municipal
Regulatory Reform: In recent years, certain arms of city
government have grown a heavy hand in dealing with the citizens and how they handle their property. The unreasonable intrusions
and harassment by Codes Enforcement must come to a halt. Also, I support mandating by ordinance no eminent domain seizures
for private development.
Pre-Pay
no more: While it is arguably a wise policy for gas stations to
have customers pre-pay for their gas, it is not the place of government to dictate it at any level. The pre-pay ordinance
is bad law and will only result in reduced spending at convenience stores, reducing the tax base for our fair city.
Eliminating
bad or outdated ordinances/Kicking out Special Interests: Did
you know it is illegal to drive horseless carriages on the square in Bowling Green? That and other such outdated laws have been kept on the books as leverage by special interests in the
community to force their will at commission meetings. These outdated laws need to be repealed at the earliest possible opportunity.
Protecting
individual Rights: I will fight vehemently against any smoke-free
ordinance drawn up similar to laws in Lexington
or New York.
Illegal
Immigration: As your city commissioner, I will introduce ordinances directed at employers knowingly
hiring illegal aliens.
Bowling Green families are MY special Interest.
